My path to personal training is different from most fitness professionals. I was not an athlete as a youth or as a young adult. Rather, at age 45 I found my self sick, overweight, unfit and exhausted. My first attempt to "get healthy" was to go out and run, despite never having run in my life. I could not run the distance of "4 mailboxes". This was a wake up call. Over the next few years I tried many fad diets and fitness programs in my endeavor to "get healthy". There were successes and failures along the way. My results were hit or miss. I wasted a lot of time.

I realize now that what I needed at the beginning of my journey was an experienced professional to help me understand what my fitness goals were and a methodical plan with measurable benchmarks that would help me achieve my goals. I needed sensible advice, not the latest fad on the internet. I needed someone to filter out the noise and keep me focused. This is why I have chosen to change careers and become a fitness professional. This journey has been a long one. One of education, research and practice.

I am certified by the National Association of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach. I have also completed extensive training as a Pilates Instructor, completing the PMA National Certification, as well as RedCord Active 1 and 2 Certifications. I am also a professional chef, and former owner of a healthy meal delivery service.

The certification that I am the most proud is GMB Fitness Trainer, which I earned in 2022. GMB Fitness is a method that emphisizes the building blocks needed not only for every day pain-free living, but for further endeavors in your fitness pursuits. Mobility, motor control and coordinated strenght are those building blocks. This method allowed me to my first handstand at 58 years old. It is the foundation upon which I train myself as well as my clients.

My clients range in age from mid 30’s to mid 80’s and include all levels of fitness. My passion is to help those who want to start or restart a path to a healthier lifestyle.
